‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey‘ was the latest victim of the horrifying ‘Texas Chainsaw’ franchise of movies as it lost its number one box-office spot to newest reboot ‘Texas Chainsaw 3D’.
Defying the expectations of critics, the blood curdling gorefest opened at number one with $23 million, bumping ‘The Hobbit’, which had had audiences captivated over Christmas.
According to Box Office Mojo, sandwiched between the two is Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’ which saw a strong second week in theatres taking $20m.
