Golden Globe-winning actor, Idris Elba steps behind the camera to make his directorial debut with a script he also penned for a Sky Arts’ Playhouse Presents feature called The Pavement Psychologist.
The 30-minute drama follows the intriguing relationship between an affable businesswoman and a charismatic homeless man. According to Sky TV, Elba’s drama captures Steve Mackintosh and Anna Friel playing Doug and Jenny; colleagues at a successful London accounting firm. Reggie Yates stars as Tommy, Jenny’s stylish assistant.
The office dynamic unravels when Jenny befriends a homeless man (played by Nonso Anozie), subsequently exposing some uncomfortable truths abouth both her work and private life.
Little information is given other than the story challenges social norms and sensitively examines the nuances of relationships.
There is no trailer (yet) and according to Sky TV the half-hour drama airs this March.
RC fans, Mr. Elba also has three projects (in which he acts) slated for release this year. They include: Pacific Rim (July 2013), Thor: The Dark World (November 2013) and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom…stay tuned!
