“I’ve changed, and I think people have started to understand who I really am.”
Congratulations are in order for Miami Heat player LeBron James who was named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year yesterday.
According to the Associated Press, the three time NBA MVP was surprised to hear about the news because of his much publicized move from Cleveland to Miami back in 2010.
“I remember just like yesterday when I signed here and basically, like the roof caved in,” said James. “To see that and my team and everyone around was able to patch that roof up, to come to this point and receive such a prestigious award, it’s huge.”
James can now add this honor to a growing list of accolades including his Olympic gold medals and his NBA Championship ring which he earned this year with the Heat.
Kudos to LeBron!
