Congrats to RZA, his directorial debut project (The Man With The Iron Fists)has not been released and already he’s signed-up to direct 2 new projects!
S&A reports RZA has signed on to direct John Milius’ Genghis Khan biopic, as well as an action thriller titled No Man’s Land.
First, the Genghis Khan biopic on the legendary Mongolian warrior and conqueror, has been in the works for many years, with Milius, who wrote the script and is executive producing, originally on board to direct. It’s apparently RZA’s project now.
The story will be told from the POV of Khan’s son and grandson, and is prepping for a shoot in China next year (where RZA shot Iron Fists).
And secondly, with regards to No Man’s Land, produced by Bill Mechanic and Reginald Hudlin, RZA would direct from a script penned by Trey Ellis and David Klass, in a story that centers on “a man who steals a powerful criminal’s diamond that soon proves to be far more valuable than initially thought. With the help of a dancer, he attempts to stay alive and cash in on the jewel.”
Again, Kudos RZA…Iron Fists opens Friday November 2nd; check it out RC fans!
