Steel Magnolias’ starlet Jill Scott graces the October issue of ESSENCE. She looks radiant with her natural cropped cut and dishes with readers about life after 40 and why hair is simply just an accessory.

“This is the simplest form of myself. I look in the mirror and it’s like, ‘Hey, there you go. What’s up, girl?’ For me, hair is an accoutrement. Hair is jewelry. It’s an accessory. Tomorrow I may want a wig down to my butt and I’m gonna rock it, and the next day I may want a big Afro and I’m gonna rock that too…”–Jill Scott

Ne-Yo covers the September/October issue of Upscale.  The singer-songwriter and rising actor gives his two scents on fame, love, fatherhood and getting recognition.

“I’ve been in the game eight years now, I’d say the first five or six years I spent quietly very bitter…I’m looking at cats that I feel— and no disrespect— but that I’m doing better than or at least as well as, and they are getting more recognition.” –Ne-Yo

Tinie Tempah looks rather dapper on the cover of GQ UK. The rising rap star is the “Solo Artist of the Year” for the second year in a row at this year’s British GQ Men of the Year Awards. Tempah is recognized for launching his own clothing line as well as his first project Disc-Overy, with anticipation already building for his second release, Demonstration.
