With his father MIA at war and his mother critical in hospital, a young boy consoles himself with dreams of playing in the youth soccer league. To do so, he must overcome the adult deception, the bullying and his solitude….

Vivica A. Fox (cast as Mary), Montel Williams (cast as the store manager), and Mary Wilson (of The Supremes cast as Nurse Mary), are all attached to co-star in an indie family sports drama titled Golden Shoes.

They’ll be joined by John Rhys-Davies, Eric Roberts, David DeLuise and Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman of The Young & The Restless) in a project that’s currently in pre-production.

The movie is expected to shoot in parts of Michigan and is currently seeking the remainder of its cast and crew.

Lance Kawas will helm the film and also wrote the screenplay along with Norman Koza (who will also executive produce the film).

The project will hold an open casting call on September 12 at the Ultimate Soccer Arena (in Pontiac, Michigan) from 4 – 8pm; please bring an 8×10 photo of yourself if you are interested.
