Spike Lee’s ‘Red Hook Summer’ premieres in NYC to much fanfare [PHOTOS]

Famed movie director Spike Lee premiered his latest project, Red Hook Summer  last night in New York City.

Red Hook Summer  tells the story of Flik Royale, a sullen young boy from a middle-class Atlanta family who spends his summer in the Red Hook housing projects with his deeply religious grandfather, Bishop Enoch Rouse.

A number of celebrity friends came out to support the legendary writer/director including Mike Tyson, Bevy Smith, Gayle King, Romany Malco, Mona Scott-Young, Toure, Laila Ali and BET execs Debra Lee & Stephen Hill.

Several of the cast members were on hand including Nate Parker, Thomas Jefferson Byrd, Jules Brown and more. The after party took place in Brooklyn’s Frank’s Lounge.
