Beyoncé Knowles wants to direct and produce a non-fiction documentary based on her extraordinary life and career.  Indie Wire is reporting that Knowles has been shopping around the idea that is basically being described as: a mix of music and personal study, blending concert footage with confessional interview.  Although she has been featured in a documentary before, this would be the first time that she is the subject and director at the same time.

Nelsan Ellis

True Blood  star Nelsan Ellis is the latest actor to join Lee Daniels’ film, The Butler.  According to The Grio, Ellis will play civil rights icon Martin Luther King, Jr. The Butler  tells the story of the White House butler who served eight presidents from 1952-1986. The film also stars Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey in the lead roles along with Cuba Gooding, Jr., Lenny Kravitz, Terrence Howard and more.

Octavia Spencer

Oscar winning-actress Octavia Spencer may be joining the cast of Rush Hour 4.  The Grio is reporting that the film’s producer, Arthur Sarkissian hinted around during a recent interview that the “The Help” actress may be joining Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan.  Spencer’s role hasn’t been totally defined but I’m sure she would be a welcomed addition to the film.

Lee Daniels

Director Lee Daniels will finally get to work with stage and film actor, Hugh Jackman on his next project, Orders to Kill.   The Examiner is reporting that Daniels originally wanted to work with Jackman on another version of the King story but never received the green light.  Orders to Kill  features Jackman as William Pepper, the controversial lawyer and activist who believed that convicted assassin, James Earl Ray, never shot MLK.  Filming begins after Daniels’ current project, The Butler.

Kid and Play

Brothers Bowlegged Lou and B-Fine of the R&B/Hip Hop group, Full Force are developing a sequel to the 80’s hip hop classic film, House PartyEUR.web is reporting that the two along with the film’s original director and screenwriter, Reginald Hudlin are currently tuning up the script. The story line would be an “old school versus new school” party and feature cameos appearances from original cast members Kid’ n Play and possibly actress Tisha Campbell.
