The Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige is going toe to toe or “toe to hoof” in this case with Miss Piggy!

The R&B music veteran’s song “Living Proof” written specifically for the movie, The Help is competing against The Muppets  song “Man or Muppet” in the Best Original Song written directly for a Film category at this year’s World Soundtrack Awards.

“Man or Muppet” was written by Academy Award winner Bret McKenzie and performed by Jason Segal and Walter for the 2011 film.

Other “Best Song” contenders include Madonna’s “Masterpiece,” “Lay Your Head Down” performed by Sinead O’Connor, and “Breath of Life” performed by Florence + the Machine.

The showdown takes place on October 20 during the closing night of the Ghent International Film Festival. The World Soundtrack Academy gives out two other awards in the categories of Film Composer of the Year and Best Original Score of the Year.

Congratulations to all the nominees and may the best man or Muppet, win!
