All eyes will be on Atlanta August 16-19 as the Peachtree Village International Film Festival rolls out the red carpet for the sixth year in a row.

The four-day festival will recognize the 20th anniversary of the film “Boomerang” featuring a rooftop party, film screening and awards brunch with the film’s director Reginald Hudlin.

The festival will also host a special opening night screening of “The Obama Effect” with a post screening conversation with the film’s lead actor Charles S. Dutton and moderated by Ed Gordon.

In addition to the screenings, this year’s festival will host a number of workshops dedicated to emerging actors and those filmmakers seeking financial and distribution assistance.

“What we have to offer our guests each year just keeps getting better and better,” says PVIFF Executive Director, Len Gibson. “After carefully monitoring the comments made by our audiences over the years, we have expanded our programming this year to include a greater focus on casting and finance to better meet their needs. Our goal is to provide our attendees with a better take-away experience in both areas when they leave the festival.”

The PVIFF is also in special partnership with the HBCU Network, See Soul, Inc., The International Soul Music Summit and The Curacao Music & Film Festival.

This year’s festival ambassador is Sparkle actor and Atlanta native Omari Hardwick.
