In honor of World Humanitarian Day on August 19, Beyoncé made a visit to the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York on Friday.  The Grammy-award-winning songstress shot the video for “I Was Here,” the Diane Warren-penned ballad off her latest album 4, in front of a live audience.  It will make its global premiere on August 19.

The video was recorded in the lobby of the General Assembly in New York for a screening of animated images, geo-referenced and a light show, projecting the incredible humanitarian work being done around the world.  The production included the presentation of Beyoncé, in addition to user-generated content and presentation of the button (pin) “I Was Here” as the symbol of people helping  each other in all corners of the planet.
