A new singing competition show?
Yes, another one. . .
American Idol judge Randy Jackson has sold a siblings singing competition show to MTV. Deadline reports the show will be based off groups like Jackson 5, Hanson and The Jonas Brothers. The untitled series will feature groups with siblings in them competing against each other.
Jackson will produce the show which is still in the early stages of development. However, they are gearing up to start casting and looking for family bands and groups. The sibling series expands Jackson’s relationship with MTV, where he executive produces America’s Best Dance Crew, currently in its seventh season.
Jackson is very busy these days in the music industry, he is also producing a VH1 series Aptitude Test, an alternative career show for celebrities from Dream Merchant 21 and Shed Media. Jackson is also co-producing a Sony ATV film about country star Charley Pride, with Dwanye “The Rock” Johnson attached. Last but not least, Grammy-winning Jackson is starting work on producing a new Mariah Carey album.
This is all a good-look for Jackson, because reports are surfacing that his future on American Idol is up in the air.
