Need a little inspiration in going natural or want a break from the wear and tear of hair relaxers?

Well, maybe Glenford Nunez can help you…

The 25 year-old photographer from Baltimore is celebrating the beauty of black women and their natural hair in a collection of portraits called “The Coiffure Project.”  Not realizing he was part of a growing natural hair revolution, Nunez says that he actually stumbled across the project by accident.

“I had no idea until I started putting the photos together.  People have thanked me for what I’m doing for natural hair and black women, but I genuinely had no idea.  It’s a super awesome feeling though.”

Nunez currently has the color/black & white photos on his website with the hopes of creating a coffee table book in the near future.

A number of Hollywood starlets have traded in their perms, wigs and weaves for their natural hair including Solange Knowles who is a spokesperson for the Carol’s Daughter ‘Transitioning Movement’.  Oscar-nominated actress Viola Davis ditched her lace front wigs and opted for a short crop cut when she graced the cover of the LA Times magazine earlier this year.  The response from fans was overwhelmingly positive.
