It’s been at least a decade since Cissy Houston has released any music. In the wake of her daughter’s death, the mother of musical icon Whitney Houston is releasing a new gospel album.
“Walk by Faith” as it is titled was released this week by Harlem Records on ITunes. It includes a track entitled “Living Shall Not Be In Vain.” Company Representative Bill Coyle says Cissy began working on the album a year ago and arranged four tracks.
Her music career has spanned over 60 years. Cissy earned two Grammys in the 90’s. Throughout her career Cissy has had the opportunity to work with many industry greats including Bette Midler, Otis Redding, Burt Bacharach, Lou Rawls and Aretha Franklin.
In addition to her album release, Houston has also agreed to star in a Lifetime reality-show called the “Houston Family Chronicles.” The show will follow the family members through the healing process of Whitney’s death.
