Film director, Antoine Fuqua beat a handful of directors to enter negotiations to helm Chicagoland at New Line Cinema. The film’s script was written by Peter Morgan, with Simon Kinberg on board to produce. No start date has been set.
The plot details of the film are scarce; all that’s known about Chicagoland is it revolves around a heist and it’s a crime drama.
Fuqua directed the film Training Day as well as Bait, King Arthur, Shooter and Brooklyn’s Finest. He is currently slated to direct Southpaw, a boxing film described as a “metaphorical sequal to 8 Mile“, starring rapper Eminem.
