Cissy Houston, mother of the late Whitney Houston (affectionately known to her family as Nippy) met with publishers in New York to shop a tell-all!
The New York Times reports Ms. Houston met with publishers, who declined to be named because negotiations are still going on. The meetings were held in a suite at the St. Regis Hotel and Cissy Houston appeared to be emotionally and physically drained.
She advised the publishers, “It’s going to be the bad, it’s going to be the good.”
Two of the publishers stated Ms. Houston was reluctant to address her daughter’s death and drug habit. Per the publishers, Ms. Houston’s disclosure depends on the amount they are willing to spend on the book. Bidding can easily go into seven figures, said the people who attended the meetings.
Cissy Houston will be a ghost writer for the book.
The book, to be called The Whitney I Knew will capture “Winans’ personal stories and anecdotes that reveal Houston’s warmth, generosity, and humor,” the publisher said in a statement. It is expected to be released in July.
