Cissy Houston, mother of the late Whitney Houston spoke out for the very first time this week since her daughter’s funeral nearly two months ago.

According to People.com Miss Houston conducted an exclusive one-on-one interview with New Jersey’s MY9tv at the New Hope Baptist Church, the same church where Whitney’s funeral services were held.

“I know I did the very best I could for everything,” is what the grieving mother told MY9tv’s Brenda Blackmon.

She also expressed to Blackmon that she is still “numb” but appears to take solace in the fact that her daughter achieved a lot in her 48 years.

“I’m very proud of my daughter.  She accomplished a whole lot in the short time that she had here…she was a very wonderful person.”

The full Cissy Houston interview will air on Monday, April 2nd during MY9tv’s The 10 O’clock News.
