Chilli talks TLC biopic and Whitney Houston…

While out and about this week, I ran into Chilli, one-third of the Grammy Award-winning trio, TLC.

Chilli along with singer-songwriter Monica; actress Tisha Campbell-Martin; and Spelman College President Beverly D. Tatum were panelists for the Box Tops for Education program at Morehouse College’s Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel. The event was sponsored by General Mills and was hosted by Susan L. Taylor and Steve Harvey.

Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the program because of another commitment (NBAF’s Fine Art + Fashion).  But, I did get a chance to talk with her briefly about the TLC biopic and losing friend, Whitney Houston.

On the TLC made for TV film…

“I’m currently working on the TLC biopic which is really exciting. Were actually getting the first draft of the first script in a week and then were going to start casting for roles shortly after that.”

On whom she would like to play her in the film…

“New faces! LOL Fresh!  You know? Although there are amazing actors and actresses out there, I think  the actors that will portray us have to be individuals that haven’t been discovered yet.”

On the passing of friend and fellow musician, Whitney Houston…

“Well, it’s a great loss and I miss her very much.”

The TLC biopic will kick-off a season of music-themed made for TV movies coming to VH1 in 2012.

Who would you cast in the roles of T-Boz, Chilli and Left Eye?
