BET’s, The Game producers have decided not to replace Melanie and Derwin but instead create two new characters that will coincide with their storyline. Earlier last month, Tia Mowry Hardrict and Pooch Hall announced they were leaving the show and left their fans wondering about the fate of the dramedy. So, will the new characters bring a new flavor to the show? Check out the character synopsis below and decide for yourself:
The new actress will be named Kieara: a 20-year-old former child star who has been in the spotlight since she was 5 years old, starring on a Cosby Show-style sitcom. The new female character will be bright and charming, but struggling to transition into her new grown-up career, according to the casting call.
The new actor will be named Bryce “The Blueprint” Westbrook: a number one, Ivy League draft pick who defies the dumb athlete stereotype. He wins the Heisman Trophy while being the smartest player on the team, which puts some of his teammates on edge.
Looks like season 6 is still a go, but will the revamp work and keep fans watching? Tell us what you think!
It is tough to see some of the cast move on to other ventures. I wish them all the best, however I am encouraged to see if new story lines and cast members will be able to keep The Game Brand afloat. I will continue to watch as long as the ideas are good & fresh.
So… Raven Symone wasn’t available for the part of Kieara? Time will tell whether these changes will help or hurt the show.
This casting should be interesting. People were really invested in the lives of these characters. They better come correct with the writing to keep people’s attention
