“Got a problem? Odds against you? Call the Equalizer”

Last year, we reported that two-time Oscar winning actor Denzel Washington had signed on to star in Antoine Fuqua’s film version of the popular 80’s series, The Equalizer.  Well, Sony Pictures has released the first official image of Washington as the detective and from the looks of things, this film may be worth checking out.

As previously reported, Washington will play Robert McCall,  a veteran covert operative who is seeking redemption from his dark deeds and is described as “a solitary, monastic figure who hates injustice and devotes himself to helping people who are being victimized. With a no-nonsense attitude, compassion and experience with dealing with a wide variety of situations he’s a powerful and useful detective.”

The original series starred the late British actor, Edward Woodard as McCall and aired between 1985 and 1989 on CBS.

Reportedly, The Equalizer  is the first time Washington and Fuqua have worked together since Training Day  and is scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 26, 2014.

RC will keep you posted as more information becomes available.
