Last month, we told you that versatile actor Ving Rhames had joined Whoopi Goldberg as part of the cast for the Lifetime original movie A Day Late and a Dollar Short.
Now it’s being reported that Hit the Floor actress Kimberly Elise will be is joining the two in the film based on the Terry McMillian best-selling novel of the same name. McMillian reportedly tweeted the information recently.
Goldberg will star as Viola Price, the irascible matriarch who learns that her next asthma attack will likely kill her, and thus sets out to fix her broken family before she moves on to the next life. While it has not been released what role Elise will play, Rhames is set to play Goldberg’s husband.
Dollar reunites Goldberg with McMillian having starred in her film adaptation of How Stella Got Her Groove Back with Angela Bassett and Taye Diggs. Goldberg is also slated to executive produce the project as well.
The film is set to be released in 2014!
