Complexions Contemporary Ballet is setting up residence here in Atlanta and I couldn’t be more excited. According to ArtsATL, the contemporary dance company, will host a fundraising event this fall and perform October 8-10 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center with the hopes of launching the inaugural season in the spring of 2016.

The organization was founded by former Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater principals, Desmond Richardson and Dwight Rhoden, and considers itself  America’s “first multicultural ballet company.”

Su Longman, Complexions’ Atlanta based board member, feels that the company will be a great addition to Atlanta’s diverse arts community. “It is truly a multiethnic dance troupe that reflects different backgrounds.  So many cultures are represented here; I think the company will be a perfect fit.”
