Azealia Banks has finally released a video to go with her “1991” EP. The popular rapper premiered it this past Labor Day Weekend along with a tweet promoting her new M.A.C cosmetic lip color, YungRapunxel.
“NEW VIDEO: “1991” … HAPPY SUNDAY! :D,” Banks tweeted Sunday, along with a YouTube link. “Check me out! i’m rocking the new #YUNGRAPUNXEL lipstick from @MACcosmetics In my New video for “1991”!”
The video is directed by Justin Mitchell and is heavily influenced by Madonna, Crystal Waters and Aaliyah. Banks, who appears on the current issue of VIBE, also promises more singing on future releases.
“I definitely need to sing more, for sure,” Banks told VIBE recently. “I’m working on that — just being a nice girl and writing a ballad instead of all these hardcore ass raps. It’s coming.”
