It’s no surprise that Arsenio Hall is returning to late night television next year. It was just a matter of time before the recent “Celebrity Apprentice” winner would eventually return to his rightful place of prominence on the television circuit.
According to BET.com, Hall is partnering with syndicator CBS Television Distribution and Tribune Co., for an 11pm program. The new show will be seen in over 17 markets including Chicago and Los Angeles.
Hall’s first show aired in 1989 on the Fox Network. The Arsenio Hall Show featured a variety of guests including many of today’s established celebrities, entertainers and actors as well as provided a platform for hip hop artists to perform their music. His audience, known as the Dog Pound, greeted him each night by barking and pumping their fist. This became a cultural phenomenon and was associated with the Aresnio Hall brand.
Although it’s been more than 20 years since we’ve seen Hall in this late night TV format, I’m confident that this show will be just as popular and part of everyone’s “must watch” weekly line-up of television programming.
Congratulations to Arsenio! Let’s take a walk down memory lane and look at some of Arsenio’s most talked about moments…
